Can we make one be "Milestone" and have it set that when something is a milestone, it displays as that in the Gantt chart?

[Show less]Record and compare actual start/finish dates against target.
Suggest duplicating some date fields, so there is
original start/end
intended start/end
slipped start/end
completion date
and for the slipped dates to be calculated and displayed depending on the task dependencies.
When a task is created, original and intended dates should be the same. If the date is revised, update only the intended date, so that original expectations vs actual can be compared.
Thus, there are two kinds of slips, a dependency-forced slip, and a user defined slip.
However, allow the user to reset the original dates too, if it is not an actual slip or if it is a correction to the original dates. Thus, the project health indicators can be adjusted as necessary.
Create project health indicators based on the slippage.

[Show less]consider how the process from answering a call moves to becoming an assigned user.
The essence of the problem is that there are currently two gateways to accessing a task. It is either public and anyone can assign themselves, or a call has been issued and someone can answer the call and/or assign themselves to the task.
That a person can assign themselves to a task in some sense devalues the call process for the task owner.
For fully open projects, a call is not necessary to make a task public and for someone to find it and assign themselves.
Perhaps it is necessary to add a assignment approval step? Certainly there could be a project setting for "require approval for assignments". This sounds like an enhancement of the untrusted assigned user role.

Ie, if filtered on assigned user, as is done for user_tasks.php, tasks not belonging to the chosen user are shown. If then filtered on completion as well, the users assigned+completed tasks are hidden as should be, but the parent tasks that do not belong to the user are still shown.

There are some thing we had originally planned to do.
We decided at some point not to do them.
Now past their initial deadlines, they pop up as incomplete tasks.
I don't want to lose record of them being planned at one time and us deciding to cancel them, but I don't want to say they're 100% done.
Could there be a "CANCELED" option at the end of the completion level bar? That would then of course be recorded in the notes of that object that "jessica canceled this object on 8/29" etc.
Thank you!

[Show less]Hi Chris,
I seem to get one of these every 4-6 weeks, but when I click the link,
there is always a message that says there are no appeals for help at this
time.
I have no idea what this guy is offering to help with.
Any thoughts?
Kevin
